Doubles game

General rules of the game

Each team consists of two players – these can be male, female or mixed pairs.

The rules for scoring points are the same as in singles game.

Service and receive rules

  • When player A from team A–B serves, player X from team X–Y receives the serve.
  • When player X serves, player B receives the serve.

If a team serves or receives without substitution, the referee should award a point to the opposing team and restore the previous lineup.

Start of the set

At the beginning of a set, the team receiving the serve chooses the first receiver - this arrangement remains in effect for the rest of the set.

In the case of a third set, the receiving pair can decide each time which player will receive a given serve.

Super-solo

What is it?

This discipline is played against time. Each player completes four one-minute rounds:

  • Right hand
  • Left hand
  • Both hands – forehand
  • Both hands – backhand

The order of playing positions is optional.

The number of valid hits within one minute is counted for each position.

In the U14 category, players perform for 30 seconds in each of the above positions.

There is a 30-second break between each position.

The winner is the player with the highest total score from all four rounds.

Signals and Timing

  • Players receive a warning signal 10 and 5 seconds before the start of each round.
  • The start of the game is announced by a sound signal (whistle).
  • The same sound signal ends the game.
  • All valid hits are counted from the start signal to the end signal.

Faults and Penalties

  • Using the non-playing hand to assist the hitting hand is not allowed. Any hits performed this way are considered invalid.
  • Hits made before the start signal are considered invalid.
  • The referee excludes invalid hits from the player’s final score.
  • If a player begins play before the start signal, a penalty of two hits is deducted from that position’s final result.

Solo-Relay

What is it??

The team consists of four players — two women and two men.

This is a timed discipline played in four 30-second positions:

  • Right hand – first player
  • Left hand – second player
  • Both hands – forehand – third player
  • Both hands – backhand – fourth player

Game Procedure

  • The order of players is optional, but men and women must alternate turns.
  • The first player to hit must be a woman.
  • The game starts on the referee’s whistle, followed by continuous exchanges between players.
  • Each new player begins immediately after the previous one finishes — without stopping play.
  • The team’s final score is the sum of all four players’ hits.

Positioning and Order

  • The team must always stay in a line formation.
  • Each player must start their turn from the same position as the others.
  • After completing their round, the player should move to the end of the line.

Penalties

  • Failing to maintain the team’s line formation results in a penalty.
  • Starting to hit the ball before the referee’s whistle results in a penalty.
  • Each infraction deducts two points from the team’s final score.
